$46,451 to $51,110 per annum, prorated to time and term as per CUPE 1870

January 16, 2017 to December 31, 2017.  (Term may be reduced or extended depending on performance, available funding and departmental requirements)

The UPEI School of Graduate Studies is committed to providing UPEI graduate students with programs and academic experiences that are second to none.  In doing so, the UPEI School of Graduate Studies works with all UPEI faculties and student support units across campus to ensure progressive and consistent policies and processes for graduate students.

The UPEI School of Graduate Studies requires a part-time administrative assistant to provide support for its team and priorities related to UPEI graduate students and UPEI graduate programs.


Under the supervision of the Dean, UPEI School of Graduate Studies, the successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

• Represent the UPEI School of Graduate Studies as an initial point of personal, electronic, and telephone contact with faculty, students, staff, and the public
• Provide administrative support for the UPEI School of Graduate Studies and Graduate Student Coordinators, graduate students, and faculty and staff who deliver graduate programming
• Arrange meetings and appointments
• Maintain administrative filing system
• Prepare requisitions and other forms
• Work with information that is often of a confidential nature
• Maintain positive interactions and communications with graduate and undergraduate students, administrators, faculty and staff, and the general public


• Completion of a recognized post-secondary education in Administration or Office Studies program with a minimum of two years related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
• Comprehensive knowledge and experience in advanced word processing, electronic information systems, spreadsheet, and presentations applications
• Proficiency in website content development and maintenance
• Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
• Strong student-focus and excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate efficiently both orally and in writing
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• A strong knowledge of UPEI and its operations, or the ability to acquire this knowledge quickly, is required
