Up to 10 hours per week as required

$17.22 per hour (vacation pay included)

January 2016 to April 2016

The Island Studies Program is looking to hire one graduate student teaching assistant to help with an undergraduate online course (Island Studies 201: Introduction to Island studies) in the Winter 2016 semester. This position will require a person who is organized, efficient, self-directed and can work independently if necessary.


The duties of this position will include:
• Provide support to the instructor and the students in the online course
• Grade assignments, tests and exams as necessary
• Manage the online discussion groups


The successful applicant will:
• Be enrolled in the Master of Arts Island Studies program
• Have strong organizational, verbal/written and online communication skills
• Be able to work independently
• Have knowledge of content of Island Studies courses
• Be familiar with online course delivery and the Moodle platform
• Previous experience in delivering online courses will be considered an asset
