Hours of Work: 

Part time: (4 hours per week for 11 weeks) February 14 – April 28, 2017
Full time: (37.5 hours per week for 16 weeks) May 1 - August 18, 2017
Some weekend and evening work may be required.

$11.44 per hour (vacation pay included) $14.41 per hour during training week (July 4-7) and four weeks of AVC Vet Camp (July 10-August 4)

The Atlantic Veterinary College, Dean’s Office at UPEI is seeking a Student to fill the position of Student Coordinator for 2017 AVC Vet Camp. 


The Student Coordinator will assist in coordinating, planning and scheduling all activities for the Dr. Tim Ogilvie AVC Vet Camp 2017 (AVC Vet Camp) in consultation with AVC staff and faculty.

• Play a key role in communicating with camp participants and their parents, and will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of AVC Vet Camp when in progress
• Assist in the evaluation of the program
• The Coordinator will also be required to assist in the planning of other events including the AVC-CVMA Bluecoat Welcome Ceremony and the AVC Summer Academy


• A DVM student is required for this position
• The student must possess strong organizational and leadership skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, be a self-starter, enthusiastic and creative
• The student must be mature, able to exercise sound judgment and have a demonstrated ability to teach and motivate children, and able to work effectively with their peers
• Familiarity with animals and animal handling required
• Prior experience in event planning and supervising others would be preferred
• Knowledge of the UPEI Campus would be an asset
• First aid certification also preferred
