The School of Nursing at the University of Prince Edward Island cultivates an interactive academic environment that prepares nursing students to become critically reflective practitioners, advocates, educators, and professional leaders grounded in the principles of primary health care. While the profession itself is deeply rooted in the provision of holistic care to individuals, families, and communities the curricula are embedded in the formal teachings of physical science, social science, nursing theory, and technology.


• Review, organize, and update digital and paper files
• Literature searches
• Create forms, spreadsheets, typing reports as needed
• Make telephone contact with potential preceptors
• This is a responsible position with little supervision
• Assist as necessary with department events related to the position
• Weekly update of progress with supervisor (minimum)
• Attend meetings related to position
• Other duties as required


• Ability to work collaboratively with others to accomplish goals
• Quality verbal communication (small group settings) and written communication (email, letters)
• Ability to engage with students, faculty, staff and community members to provide information in a polite, professional, and efficient manner both (in person and on the telephone).
• Ability to read, count, and write accurately to complete required documentation
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Strong working knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office, APA formatting  and RefWorks
• Current UPEI student (preference for health care background however will consider a candidate with superior organizational skills and professional manner)
• Strong computer skills, excellent communication skills and detail oriented. The ability to handle confidential matters is essential.
