The Faculty of Education requires the services of a Bachelor of Education student to serve as a research assistant for the grant Lessons from the Field: Preservice Teachers’ Experiences with Implementing Project-based Learning.
Preferably, the successful candidates will be a 2nd year student.
The assistant will conduct interviews with participants and organize information obtained. The research assistant will also transcribe tape recorded interviews and enter this data into nVivo9 the qualitative research analysis software. The assistant will also be responsible for organizing and filing all electronic and hard copies of data, notes, and literature. The assistant will also help with the development and results of an online survey and the communications with participants. This assistant will also be expected to attend team meetings and take minutes for such meetings.
The successful candidates must be enrolled in the Bachelor of Education degree. The successful candidate should be comfortable with or able to learn how to use a variety of technology, including photocopiers, printers, Macs, Moodle, NVivo, digital recorders, and data base and word processing software. Previous experience in the Projects Approach to Curriculum design and implementation is preferred. Familiarity with PEI schools and teachers, curriculum and instruction is needed.
