The assistance of a student is required to assist with the AIRS UPEI Multicultural Choir, communicating with members across the network and organizing and formatting information about the wide variety of deliverables.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Director (Dr. Annabel Cohen), the work will entail:

• Familiarization with the AIRS project, its members, and the web-site 
• Assistance in organizing the AIRS Multicultural Choir rehearsals
• Attending the 1 hour  rehearsals each week (Tuesdays)
• Creating advertising via social media and posters regarding AIRS, and the Multicultural Choir
• Reporting on aspects of success and helping develop a plan for continuation.
• Taking responsibility for the AIRS research facility as it pertains to the choir
• Other administrative tasks as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Currently registered in relevant disciplines of Psychology, Music, Education, Business, Tourism, Island Studies or other related discipline
• Prior familiarity with AIRS and research in singing
• Ability to work responsibly without close supervision
• Good organizational skills  and record-keeping ability
• Experience with choir direction and participation, vocal and/or musical background or experience in event management
• Creativity
• Leadership
• Capable of exercising confidentiality, conscientiousness, meticulousness
• Openness to the experience of many cultures
• Word processing, familiarity with various social media sites
• Superior communication skills
• Bilingual (asset but not essential)

Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and Procedures manual.
