Required to work a minimum of two evenings per week (Monday – Thursday) from 6 – 10 pm during the program

$11.81 per hour (vacation pay included)

The Department of Development & Alumni Engagement is seeking a
Supervisor to assist in leading the “Panther Connectors” student calling program team in support of UPEI’s Annual Fund. The successful candidate will be a goal oriented, dependable, motivated leader who works well with others.

The Supervisor will lead and direct the Student callers in their work for the Department of Development & Alumni Engagement, which is the friend-raising and fundraising branch of UPEI. All callers are trained to call UPEI Alumni in order to carry out three main functions:
• Share information about University events and campus updates while generating goodwill toward UPEI
• Update contact information, which allows us to stay in touch with our Alumni family
• Ask for financial support for the UPEI Annual Fund


• Applicants must be comfortable leading a team for the purpose of asking for donations over the telephone
• Supervisor will train, motivate and encourage optimal performance in accordance with program outline and goals set by the program director
• Supervisor must commit to working 2 shifts per week and follow attendance guidelines
• Supervisor must instill fundraising techniques in students while managing their performance by adhering to calling guidelines
• Supervisor must place a high priority on coaching employees. Good coaching involves working with employees to establish suitable goals, action plans and time lines
• Supervisor will complete necessary paperwork as required


• Applicants must have a minimum of one year’s experience as a former student caller with the “Panther Connectors” initiative.
• Applicants must be able to speak clear and fluent English
• Applicants must have excellent leadership skills with a strong coaching and mentoring capability
• Applicants must have ability to plan and execute operational strategizes
• Applicants must have a keen attention to detail and be able to prioritize and manage a variety of tasks
• Applicants must be full time students at UPEI
• Applicants must have the ability to communicate effectively, clearly and professionally

Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and Procedures manual.
