Dr. Pedro Quijon (Biology Department) is seeking to hire a part-time student assistant to help with research projects in PEI shoreline systems (sandy beaches and estuaries, as required)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The student will assist with identification of marine invertebrates, in particular, amphipods, in addition to help in a few ongoing projects on invasive species.
• The student needs to be comfortable with extensive field and laboratory work in different areas of the island, sometimes at odd hours (based on tides, weather, etc).
• A valid driver's license is required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Students who have experience identifying marine amphipods are strongly preferred
• Students who completed Field coastal ecology (Bio-327) are strongly preferred
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work on western PEI shorelines
