Contract: 
FULL-TIME TERM POSITION

37.5 hours per week

Salary: 
$ 43,735 per annum, prorated to time and term as per CUPE 1870 (salary under review) (grant funded)
Term: 

Two months (Term may be extended depending on performance, available funding and departmental requirements.)

The Department of Computer Science & Information Technology invites applications for one or more term positions of research assistant. This is a two month position starting mid February. This position may be renewable subject to funding and satisfactory review.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidates will assist the project manager in the development of software tools for mobile devices including the iPhone/iPad. Specific duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Develop software applications for multiple platforms, including the iPhone/iPad.
• Design interfaces for existing computer systems.
• Participate in the design and execution of usability tests for a wide range of software products.
• Interaction with industrial partners.
• Contribute to the writing of technical reports and research papers.
• Formal presentation of experimental results when required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A BSc in computer science with specific training and/or experience in iPhone/iPad development and creation of data capture systems is required. The successful candidate should have excellent communication (written/oral) skills, be motivated and be able to work with minimal supervision.
