Working as part of the ITSS Team, the Senior Project Coordinator accomplishes project objectives by planning project activities, monitoring project progress, managing project tasks and supervising the work completed by the members of the associated project team.  The project coordinator/leader works in close collaboration with any associated vendors and consultants to make sure the project stays on track from all aspects of the delivery.

Overall, the senior project coordinator’s responsibilities encompass three key areas, Planning, Acquisition and Deployment, and Operational Management, each having their own expectations and responsibilities.

Given the transition and dynamic nature of the Campus, the Senior Project Coordinator will be responsible for leading new initiatives and on-going evolution related projects encompassing process improvement and technology adoption utilizing proven project management principles and best practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The primary focus of this position is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Senior Project Coordinator will also define the project’s phases and phase objectives as well as oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.

Working as part of the Project Beacon Team, the Senior Project Coordinator accomplishes project objectives by planning and monitoring project activities.  The project manager/leader works in close collaboration with ITSS staff, staff across campus and vendors/consultants to ensure the project stays on track from all aspects of the delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• University degree in the field of business administration, information science, or management information systems
• PMP or CAPM Certification or equivalent work experience
• A minimum of 5 years of proven project experience in a large scale IT environment
• Strong familiarity with project management software, such as MS Project
• Competent and proficient understanding of platforms
• Solid working knowledge of current Internet technologies
• Demonstrated experience in personnel management
• Technically competent with various software programs, such as Google Docs, MS Project, Process Modeling
• Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential
• Demonstrated ability to bring projects to successful completion through political sensitivity
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills.  Customer service skills an asset
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial
