$36,274 to $39,904 per annum as per CUPE 1870

The School of Nursing requires an administrative assistant to provide secretarial and related support services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Represent the School of Nursing as the initial point of personal and telephone contact with the public, faculty, students and staff
• Receive and distribute incoming mail 
• Compose, type, photocopy and collate a wide range of documents and correspondence
• General accounting duties
• Organize and disseminate student opinion of teaching surveys 
• Acknowledge routine written and telephone inquiries
• Compile and organize information for reports
• Arrange appointments and meetings
• Assist in maintaining positive communications with outside agencies and individuals pertaining to health care and the nursing profession 
• Establish and maintain administrative filing system and mailing lists
• Prepare requisitions and other forms
• Update Website
• Monitor office and other supplies
• Other duties as may be required

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Successful completion of Grade 12
• Successful completion of an Administrative Assistant Program with related experience or a combination of education and experience
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Moodle, E-Mail usage, Power Point. 
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to deal effectively with people
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
