Casual, On Call

$11.27 per hour (vacation pay included)

Immediately to September 2016

The Department of Health Management is looking to create a list of Technical Assistants for casual on-call employment. The successful applicants will be responsible for assisting in laboratory and field work for ongoing projects within the Shellfish Health Research Group.


• Performance of health assessment and condition index of submitted specimens
• Use of an assortment of field and laboratory equipment
• Entry of data using computers and associated software
• Collection of specimens from wild or cultured shellfish stocks while working on small boats


• Preference will be given to candidates attending UPEI veterinary or science programs. 
• Other skills required include the capability to do repetitive work, excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to learn quickly.
