$10.76 per hour (vacation pay included)

Enrollment Services requires student mentors to work with the Transitions Coordinator. The academic student mentors will provide support for students who are enrolled in the Transitions Program (TP).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will be part of a team of individuals who provide:
• Academic mentoring to first year students
• Support to students making the transition to university
• Help build a personalized learning plan for students in TP
• Attending monthly staff meetings with other mentors and Transitions Coordinator
• Scheduling of weekly meetings with students
• Provide the Transitions Coordinator reports on student progress

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Motivated and successful 3rd or 4th year student
• Excellent organization, time management, and study skills
• Strong English communication skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Dependable and reliable
• Strong computer, moodle and google drive skills
• Awareness of student supports available on campus
• Experience working with students and support services will be considered and asset.

Successful applicants must be able to attend a full day training session on September 20th, 2014.

A copy of your degree audit is required as part of your application.
