Student Affairs and Webster Centre are seeking candidates to create a list of student leaders to lead a number of projects in our department. These positions will be under the direction of various Student Affairs and Webster Centre staff members, developing intentional programming to promote a diverse, healthy and vibrant community at UPEI. The length of contract and number of hours will vary according to the requirements of the individual projects. Successful candidates comprising the list will be contacted and details confirmed when, and if, their services are required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

There are a number of possible projects for which a candidate may be asked to assist including, but not limited to, Mental Health Week, Campus Life Program, Diversity on Campus, Alcohol Awareness, Sexual Health. Should a candidate from the list be contacted by a Student Affairs/Webster Centre staff member, the candidate has the right to accept or reject the offer and will remain on the list for future possible projects.
Should the candidate accept the position, such duties may include:
• assisting staff member(s) in identifying purposeful topics for UPEI community;
• assisting in the planning and delivery of programs/events;
• assisting in evaluating programs and preparing reports;
• advertising programs using social media and other sources;
• recruiting and scheduling of student volunteers; and
• seeking donations for prizes if necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Self motivated and creative student in 2nd yr or higher
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Academically in "good standing" (according to Academic Regulation 17)
• Ability to work in a confidential environment
• Strong communication skills and works well in a team environment
• Show initiative and work with minimal supervision
• Student centered, dependable and reliable
• Knowledge of UPEI campus and services
