The Department of Biomedical Sciences is seeking applications for a temporary student research assistant position. The position is required to work in a lab under the direction of Dr. Sunny Hartwig.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform dissections, process kidney tissue slides using immunofluorescence microscopy
• Perform image analysis using ImageJ and other NIH software
• The work entails highly focused and exact processing of several thousand digital images in a dark room

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have excellent computer proficiency in ImageJ and other programs
• Expertise in microscopy
• Prior laboratory experience is a requirement and must be documented in a letter of support from a current UPEI faculty member
• Very strong academic record (A average or higher)
• Strong work ethic, excellence in image analysis, very strong focus, and independence

References demonstrating these skills are required.
