February 2014 to December 2015 (Term may be reduced or extended depending on performance, available funding and departmental requirements.)


A Research Assistant is needed to work on a research project about the vulnerability of coastal infrastructure in the Atlantic Region. The Research Assistant will be supervised by Dr. Adam Fenech, director, Climate Research Lab, and the projects’ research teams.


• assisting in project collaboration, co-ordination, integration and administration including managing the exchange of information;
• assist in building collaborative teams to complete project tasks;
• assisting in calling, chairing and minuting the project team meetings;
• assisting in managing activities to achieve project purposes;
• assisting in managing and sharing resources;
• assisting in managing project agreements, finances and reporting requirements;
• assisting in managing the project product dissemination; and
• assisting in managing project communications.


• undergraduate degree in science or related discipline
• graduate degree in business administration or equivalent education and experience
• experience in data analysis and research management
• strong organizational, and communication skills
• strong computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets and presentations
