Undergraduate Student Research Assistant
Hours of Work: 

up to 20 hours per week

$13.41 per hour (vacation pay included) (Grant Funded)

As soon as possible until December 31, 2015 (may be reduced or extended depending on funding)

The Young Lives Research Lab is seeking an Undergraduate Student Research Assistant to support data collection, storage, and transcription for a project titled:  Digital Media and Young Lives in Transition (SSHRC funded).


• Assisting with literature searches.
• Updating and maintaining RefWorks database.
• Preparing interview materials.
• Scanning documents.
• Entering data into SPSS.


Essential Qualifications:
• Knowledge of RefWorks.
• Knowledge of SPSS.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Skills in library and computerized literature searches.

Asset Qualifications:
• Experience in and understanding of qualitative research.
• Experience with qualitative research software such as Nvivo.

Preference will be given to a student from the Arts: sociology, anthropology, psychology, history, philosophy, or Education.

Priority to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and Procedures manual.
