Up to 10 hours per week in some of the labs. Winter semester, Wednesdays, 1:00pm-9:00pm

Salary: 
$20.14 per hour as per CUPE 1870
Term: 

January 2015 – April 2015 (Up to 12 weeks - Term may be reduced or extended depending on performance, available funding and departmental requirements.)

The Department of Biology is looking for a lab instructor/teaching assistant for Biology 331 : Research Methods and Communications in Biology.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assisting and conducting the lab session
• Assisting students in writing scientific papers
• Lead class discussion and provide advice relating to lab
• Marking assignments

QUALIFICATIONS:

• BSc in Biology
• BEd would be an asset
• Previous experience teaching in Bio 331 labs (or equivalent) would be an asset
• Familiar with writing in scientific paper format.
• Experience and competence in teaching English writing with an emphasis on grammar and mentoring active reading strategies.
• Competence in basic applied biostatistics and the presentation of data in figures and tables in scientific style utilizing Minitab and Excel software.
