4.5 hours per week in lab: Mondays 5:00-6:30 pm and 6:45-8:15 pm, and Tuesdays 6:00 – 7:30 pm, plus 3.5 hours per week lab preparation and report marking, for a total of 8 hours per week.
Salary:
$27.29 per hour as per CUPE 1870

September 6, 2018 to December 21, 2018 (Term may be reduced or extended depending on performance, available funding and departmental requirements)

The Department of Physics of the University of Prince Edward Island has an opening for a laboratory coordinator to be responsible for one lab section of Physics 1110 (General Physics I) and two lab sections of Physics 1210 (Physics for Life Sciences I) during the Fall Semester.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in setting up the assigned Physics 1110 and Physics 1210 laboratories
• Delivering the assigned Physics 1110 and Physics 1210 laboratories
• Assisting the course instructor with evaluating written work
• Other duties as assigned by the course instructor

QUALIFICATIONS:

• B.Sc. in Physics, with a strong background in instructing introductory physics
• Experience instructing physics laboratories at the undergraduate level
• Experience grading physics lab reports
