Hours of Work: 

10 to 15 hours per week (approximately 85 to 100 hours of work, in total).

$20.48 per hour (vacation pay included)

September to October 2015

A UPEI Master’s student experienced in transcribing interviews/audiotaped recordings is needed for a study entitled, “Exploring the Leadership Practices of Principals Who Promote the Educational Success of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit (FNMI) High School Students.” This research is led by Dr. Jane Preston (Faculty of Educatin, UPEI).  This research is funded through the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Canada.


• Transcribe about 20 hours of taped recordings.
• Create authentic, well-written, grammatically correct transcripts.


• Master’s student enrolled at UPEI (preferably in the Faculty of Education).
• Able to transcribe a 60-minute audio recordings in 4 to 5 hours.
• Strong written and grammatical skills.
• Excellent knowledge and usage of APA writing standards.
