8 – 15 hours per week

Salary: 
$10.74 per hour (vacation pay included)

The Webster Centre for Teaching and Learning requires student mentors to work with the Coordinator of both the Transition Program (TP) and Accessibility Services. The academic student mentors will provide support for students who are enrolled in the Transition Program (TP) and with Accessibility Services.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will be part of a team of individuals who provide:
• Academic mentoring of students
• Group facilitation with students
• On-going academic and social support for students
• Report writing / Presentations
• Scheduling meetings with students
• Adaptive technology support
• Be able to attend a half day training session mid/late August 2012
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Self motivated 3rd or 4th year student – (exceptional 2nd year students)
• Excellent organization, time management and study skills techniques
• Copy of degree audit needed
• Strong marks in area of study
• Strong English communication skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Student centered, dependable and reliable
• Strong computer and Moodle skills
• Applicants who have experience working with students and support services will be an asset.
