The Young Lives Research Lab is seeking a Senior Research Assistant  to coordinate tasks related to research, evaluation, and knowledge translation for a research project on Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Scale-Up in Atlantic Canada. The Senior Research Assistant will be supervised by Dr. Kate Tilleczek, Director and Dr. Brandi Bell, Postdoctoral Research Fellow & Assistant Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Recruit study participants, following approved ethical research protocols
• Network with individuals and organizations across Atlantic Canada
• Conduct surveys, interviews, and focus groups (will require travel throughout NL, NB, and NS)
• Assist in development of knowledge dissemination strategy with project partners
• Prepare knowledge translation tools (Website, Fact Sheets, Policy Briefs)

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Degree in social science or related discipline (Master’s level preferred)
• Experience in and understanding of qualitative research
• Experience in and understanding of research ethics
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to quickly learn and master various computer applications
• Driver’s license and ability to travel in NL, NB, and NS
• Experience in the creation of KT tools and dissemination techniques

Asset Qualifications:
• Knowledge of SEL 
• Experience researching and/or working with schools
• Previous work in youth and community based research
