This position would be supervised by a Research faculty member and would service several research projects that would cover such areas as microbiology, parasitology, morphologic pathology or clinical pathology.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assisting faculty with research projects in the areas of microbiology, parasitology, morphologic pathology or clinical pathology according to the availability or projects and the student’s interests. The successful applicant may be asked to participate in one project or a number of projects in any of the above disciplines. In addition, the student may assist in the development of resource materials used in the teaching programs of the department faculty. Some of the research projects could provide excellent training in cell culture, nucleic acid extraction, PCR, enzyme assays and bacteriology laboratory work. There is also a possibility of field work associated with wildlife projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Computer literacy with spreadsheets and ability to find and download Net documents. Preference to a veterinary Student who has completed 2nd year of the program.
Priority to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and Procedures manual.
