ADS Level 5 - Administrative Assistant - Department of Biomedical Sciences - Atlantic Veterinary College (Grant Funded)
As soon as possible – February 2019 (Term may be reduced or extended depending on performance, available funding and departmental requirements)
The successful candidate will assist the principle investigator (Dr. Russ Kerr) with financial management and human resource activities. The Administrative Assistant will perform several duties in support of the research activities of the laboratory.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintaining laboratory budgets and accounts
• Liaising with UPEI Accounting department and Human Resources office
• Procuring laboratory equipment and supplies
• Reconciling credit card statements
• Coordinating UPEI Scientific Diving Activities
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Grade 12 graduation plus completion of a recognized post-secondary program in a related area
• A minimum of two (2) years related work experience
• Excellent written, verbal and inter-personal communication skills
• Accounting skills, including use of Excel spreadsheets
• Familiarity with UPEI’s accounting system
• Capacity to manage schedules, monitor budgets, procurement, record-keeping, planning and reporting requirements
