$16.00 per hour (vacation pay included)

February 2014 to May 3, 2014 (Term may be reduced or extended depending on performance, available funding and departmental requirements.)


The UPEI Centre for Health and Biotech Management Research is a collaborative research group based with the School of Business at the University of Prince Edward Island that specializes in supporting the Canadian health and biotechnology sectors through three pillars: research, knowledge translation, and education and training.


The Research Assistant will support research and development in collaboration with partners and staff on multiple projects in the health sector. In addition, the successful applicant will help in writing and editing funding applications, updating the CHBMR’s website, and will support other administrative duties such as writing meeting minutes and communicating with the Centre’s partners. The Research Assistant will also perform literature reviews, analyze and summarize secondary information, contribute to publications, and prepare reports, summaries, quantitative and qualitative analyses and presentation materials, as well as additional related duties as assigned by the Project Officer of the Centre for Health and Biotechnology Management (CHBMR), who will directly supervise these activities.


The successful applicant must:
• Have extremely strong writing skills;
• Be organized, dependable, self-motivated, and pay attention to detail;
• Learn quickly, think analytically and have excellent teamwork skills; and
• Be flexible, creative, and results-oriented.
Computer skills, including knowledge of MS Suite programs, are required, as is knowledge of research methods.
