The UPEI Centre for Health and Biotech Management Research is a collaborative research group based with the School of Business at the University of Prince Edward Island that specializes in supporting the Canadian health and biotechnology sectors through three pillars: research, knowledge translation, and education and training.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Research Coordinator will be responsible for:
• Assisting with organizing events, networking, and attending conferences;
• Preparing and tracking research grants, working towards future funding opportunities, drafting reports, correspondence, and tracking research progress according to project timelines;
• Performing and completing research projects and contributing to their design as required; and
• Assisting with administering daily operations of the Centre for Health and Biotechnology Management Research as directed by the Project Officer and Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates must have:
• A solid understanding of health and business as demonstrated by a combination of experience and/or academic background such as experience in the biotechnology and/or health field and a degree in Business Administration or Science;
• Excellent writing skills are essential;
• 1 to 3 years of related experience;
• Experience in quantitative and qualitative research, academic and grant writing, conducting literature searches;
• Familiarity with the Canadian health care system in the area of health research would be an asset;
• Superior computer skills; experience using MS Office, online bibliographic library tools; and
• Excellent presentation, inter-personal, organizational, problem-solving, critical-thinking, time management, and creative skills, and a demonstrated ability to initiate actions and work with minimal supervision.
