The Psychology Department seeks applications for the position of research assistant to help conduct an experiment in the Health Canada – UPEI Legibility Laboratory.  The project concerns measuring the legibility of some common fonts with and without serifs.  The measurements will take about 2 hours per volunteer with 20 or more volunteers needed depending on the variability of the data.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Help recruit volunteers
• Conduct experiments
• Testing volunteers for normal visual acuity and color vision
• Working with the volunteers; explain the experiment, show how to take the measurements and debrief them on completion.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts
• Excellent communication skills
• Previously taken courses in sensation and perception
• Experience operating computers and other apparatus in a laboratory setting.
