37.5 hours per week with additional hours during program. Includes evening and weekend work during the program.

Reporting to the Director, Centre for Life-Long Learning, the Project Manager of the Summer English as an Additional Language (EAL) programs is responsible for the overall program administration of the Youth English-language Program, Explore, as well as other specialized English language programs that are offered during the spring and summer months (May-August) at the University of Prince Edward Island.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Budgeting and financial supervision of all EAL programs in association with other members of the Centre for Life-Long Learning.
• Recruiting, interviewing, and making hiring recommendations for Activity and Academic Coordinator; Activity Supervisor; and EAL instructor positions for both the Spring and Summer Programs.
• Organizing, scheduling, and overseeing the development of the program curriculum and organization of the socio-cultural activities.
• Communicating with the Academic Coordinator regarding instructor evaluation
• Communicating verbally, electronically, and in writing with potential and enrolled students and their parents.
• Preparing an inventory of existing materials in the programs and recommending the purchase of appropriate learning and teaching materials.
• Organizing and coordinating professional development training sessions for spring and summer staff before the programs.
• Supervising staff and students during formal EAL lessons on weekday mornings and during organized socio-cultural activities on weekday evenings and weekends.
• Administrating admissions information, contracts, correspondence, discipline (staff and students), staff evaluations, compilation of students’ final marks, and the coordination of staff meetings, as necessary.
• Assisting the CLLL Director in further development of EAL programs.
• Liaising with the Program’s Academic and Activity Coordinators to resolve issues related to staff and students.
• Translating website and program materials and updating website when required.
• Answering questions regarding program policies and activities
• Upholding and enforcing the rules and regulations of the respective program and implementing disciplinary measures when necessary.
• Attending regular meetings with the UPEI Centre for Life-Long Learning, both before and during program delivery.
• Preparing a final report for department administration and funding government agency.
• Other duties which would be appropriate to a potentially expanded language program at the University of Prince Edward Island.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelors Degree - preferably in Business or Education
• Experience working with English as an Additional Language (EAL) programming
• Experience in program or project management
• High proficiency in written and spoken English
• Proficiency in written and spoken French
• Excellent administrative/organizational experience required especially in budget processes
• Excellent leadership skills with demonstrated strategies
• Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills
• Good computer skills
• Experience in program development considered an asset
• Previous experience with the Explore Program considered an asset
