 Grant Funded Position

An assistant is required to support a research project to implement a ‘Gulf of St. Lawrence Aster Seed Bank’ under Dr. Christian Lacroix’s supervision in the Biology Department. This position will involve laboratory work. Training in techniques relevant to the discipline and safety training will be provided. This position is subject to final funding approval.

RESPONSIBILITIES: -

Leading the implementation of a proper seed banking protocol for the St. Lawrence Aster - Retrieving scientific literature relevant to the projects at hand - Organizing and entering collected data using standard software - Updating and maintenance of lab’s web site (VRE) - Preparing a final report for submission to funding agency - Performing other general lab and plant care duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Knowledge of plant development and ecology is an asset; individuals with a knowledge of and experience in Plant Science will be given priority. - Experience using word processing & spreadsheet software (e.g. Word, Excel, etc.) required. - B+ overall average (or higher) in Biology courses.
