Classification

Classification is the process by which a specific position at UPEI is classified or re-classified (for example, an ADS Level 5 position to Level 6).

Departments creating a new union position must determine the classification of the job before the job is posted by Human Resources. Also, existing employees can apply to have their positions reviewed for re-classification if they feel the original job description has changed. This is a formal process that is managed through Human Resources.
