2nd place winner of the undergraduate essay contest of the Weller Prize sponsored by the Canadian Association for Security and Intelligence Studies (CASIS) held in Ottawa.
"After handing back my paper for his history of espionage class, Dr. Bruce Craig encouraged me to submit my paper for the Canadian Association for Security and Intelligence Studies' (CASIS) Weller Prize national award competition. I did so, and was surprised to later learn that I was named the second place winner in the "undergraduate" competition. This November the association flew me to Ottawa where I got to present my paper and accept my award. While I was nervous, it was a great experience to present my paper in front of some of the world's leading experts in security and intelligence studies. In addition, throughout the week I had the opportunity to sit in on lectures on topics which ranged from cyber security to the beginnings of the Central Intelligence Agency. It was a great experience to sit in on these lectures and meet with academics and practitioners alike."
