Brighton Construction is the General Contractor for this project. Over the winter months the structural portions of the building progressed with the structural steel supports, concrete stair walls and precast floor slabs being installed. During that same time frame the exterior steel studs walls, windows and exterior waterproofing (Blue skin) were started and are now nearing completion. The roofing application recently started and within the next few weeks the building will become weather tight.
The interior of the building has also been progressing with steel studs walls, electrical and mechanical pipework being well underway or completed for most of the first floor. The second floor steels stud walls are well underway with mechanical and electrical pipework started as well. The layout for the third floor steel stud walls and mechanical work is now being done.
In the coming weeks exterior wall insulation and brick work will commence as well as interior drywall will start on the first level.
The building completion is expected in the Fall of 2011.
While the contractors have been instructed that the work be executed with the least possible interference or disturbance to the campus community, a certain amount of disruption is inevitable.
