The K.C. Irving Chemistry Centre was named for Kenneth Colin Irving after the Irving Foundation made a significant donation toward its construction. The building is a state-of-the-art teaching and research facility housing the Chemistry Department. It opened in the summer of 1996, relocating the department from the Cass Science Hall.
