ACIC: Program Coordinator

Since 2002, the Atlantic Council for International Cooperation (ACIC) has offered more than 100 internships in 16 countries through the International Youth Internship Program and the International Aboriginal Youth Internship Program. These internships provide youth (age 18-35) with international development experience, skills, and knowledge to help better prepare them for future employment, while advancing Canadian development objectives.

The Program Coordinator will work closely with and report to a Program Manager based in Nova Scotia. Both positions are supervised by senior level management at ACIC and NCGC, but as a key member of a small staff team, they must be able to work independently on a variety of tasks, and to motivate others to participate.

The Waterfront Coordinator runs all activities at the waterfront (beach on the Atlantic Ocean). Kayaking, swimming, and beach activities are a huge part of our programming but require the right person to oversee them. The successful candidate would be very comfortable in a kayak and able to attend kayaking guide training prior to camp (if he or she are not already certified). You would look after the preparation for each session kayaking, lead facilitation of the kayaking program on the water, run beach activities if conditions are adverse, look after the care and storing of kayaks and equipment at day’s end, and assist in other tasks/activities as assigned as a part of the core staff. You would also help with supervision of daily beach time. Significant experience on the water is a strong asset.

Camp triumph: Camp Cook

Camp Triumph is a registered charity that provides a unique and unforgettable camp program to children who have a family member with a serious illness or disability. Children, aged 7-16, congregate in this wonderful haven where they take a break from the challenging lives they face at such young ages. We provide therapy through FUN. Our campers take part in a balanced program that includes, physical activity, healthy eating, creative arts, developing coping strategies, self-esteem boosting, relationship building, and relaxation.

Christian Summer Camp Staff for Underprivileged Kids Camp

Hope Mission Operates 2 Christian Summer camps which provide a summer camp experience for kids from single parent, foster and group homes.  Brighwood Ranch is 220 acres of rolling hills located one hour west of Edmonton, Alberta.  We operate programs for youth ages 6-17 through 6 day resident and outtripping camps.  Camp Hope is 104 acres located 20 minutes west of Calgary, Alberta along the Elbow River.  We are seeking summer camp staff to guide and love the campers that will come in summer 2018.
