Canadian Literature is a vital part of the English program, with several Canadian Literature specialists--including Dr. Richard Lemm and Dr. Brent MacLaine--and three courses:

English 321: English-Canadian Prose
English 322: English-Canadian Poetry
English 331: The Literature of Atlantic Canada

Post-Colonial Literature

We offer two courses in the English-language literature of countries that were once part of the British colonial empire and, after independence, the British Commonwealth:

English 301: The New English Literatures of Africa and the Caribbean
English 302: The New English Literatures of Australia, New Zealand, and the Indian Subcontinent
