Research at the School of Sustainable Design Engineering is very diverse and interdisciplinary, and is supported by our Research Centres of Excellence: Robotics and Industrial Automation; Sustainable Energy; Bioresources and Food Processing; Sensors, Optics and Imaging; and Advanced Manufacturing.

The School’s faculty members are actively engaged in applied research, mainly in collaboration with industry partners. Information on research expertise can be found on the individual faculty profile pages or via IslandScholar

Graduate students play a critical role in industry research collaborations and gain experience working on real-world problems with external clients. The School currently offers an MSc in Sustainable Design Engineering, and will be offering an Interdisciplinary PhD in Sustainable Design Engineering in Fall 2018.
