All areas in this section are accessed using your UPEI OneCard (Student ID).
Cass 305 -- Usability Centre
All declared majors in Computer Science are automatically granted access to this area. You are expected to keep it neat and tidy. Non-majors do not have access to this area.
Cass 306 -- Majors Lab
To gain access to the Cass 306 Majors Lab, you must be enroled in a course requiring such access, or have the support of a faculty member for research or other academic purposes. You must sign up for an account using the "CSIT Account Application" form, a PDF document available as an attachment below. CS Majors with second year or higher standing have automatic access to this facility.
To physically access the lab, use your UPEI OneCard ID.
The account application form must be completed in order to receive an account on the CSIT Linux network. The first page is the Usage Policy, which is an extension of the UPEI Acceptable Use Policy, and is to be retained by you for your records - please do NOT submit it with your application. The second page is the Account Application Form, which you must submit to the Systems Administrator, Mr. Vessey, in Cass 308.
Information about other access to the Cass 306 Lab
If you do not normally have access to this lab, but are working as a research assistant for a faculty member, you can be given temporary access. Have the supporting faculty member contact the Systems Administrator to arrange the terms of thsi access. The Systems Administrator will not grant accounts or access for users without a specific research requirement for which such access is needed. A faculty research supervisor must authorize your request.
***NOTE*** You only need to get faculty support if you are using the lab for faculty-supervised research. If you are already a participant in a class which requires access, your OneCard will give you access to the door, valid for that semester.
Cass 309 -- Gaming and Graphics Lab
To gain access to the Cass 309 Gaming and Graphics Lab, you must be enroled in a course requiring such access, be an accepted student in the VGPS program, or have the support of a faculty member for research or other academic purposes which would require access to this specific hardware. You must sign up for an account using the "CSIT Account Application" form, a PDF document available as an attachment below. The VGPS Linux account base is used for Windows authentication in this lab.
