Athletes of the Week—October 27–November 3

| Athletics

UPEI Athletics and Recreation announced the UPEI Panther Athletes of the Week for the week of October 28-November 3. UPEI Athletics and Recreation showcases these talented athletes to recognize their hard work and dedication to their respective sports throughout the seasons. UPEI Athletes of the Week are also nominated to Atlantic University Sport and Canadian Interuniversity Sport for possible recognition in the region and/or country.

Who: Sarah Stanley, Women's Soccer; and Cody McNaughton, Men's Hockey

What: UPEI Panther Athletes of the Week

When: Week of October 27-November 3

Why: A third-year business student in her fourth year of eligibility from Charlottetown, PEI, Sarah Stanley scored the overtime game winning goal in the AUS Women's Soccer quarterfinal match, and was selected as Player of the Game. During the AUS semifinal game, Stanley played hard, injured her shoulder on one play and her ribs on another, but she persevered with a gutsy performance. Stanley was also recently selected to the AUS Women's Soccer 2nd All-Star Team, and was selected back in September as an UPEI, AUS, and CIS Athlete of the Week.

A first-year business student in his first year of eligibility from Petawawa, Ontario, Cody McNaughton scored a hat trick in the Men's Hockey 10-2 win over STU. McNaughton is quickly getting comfortable with the league as he continues to develop all facets of his game. He was also particularly effective in penalty kill situations over the weekend.
