2009 Fall Research Seminar Series

The Centre for Education Research is pleased to announce their fall schedule as part of their annual Research Seminar Series.

October 30:  Dr. Miles Turnbull (UPEI) & Dr. Marianne Cormer (Université de Moncton) will give a bilingual presentation entitled "A literary approach for teaching science and language in French" ("Une approche littératiée pour apprendre les sciences et la langue en français").

November 20: Dr. Liz Townsend (Dalhousie University) will present "Adults Learning Mental Health: Sounds Simple? Let's Talk about issues of Empowerment, Differences, Social Exclusion, Professional Power, and Knowledge Exchange."

November 27: Dr. Clyde Hertzman will visit the UPEI Campus. Dr. Hertzman is the Director of the Human early Learning Partnership (HELP), the College for Interdisciplinary Studies at UBC, and a Canada Research Chair in Population Health and Human Development.

December 4: Dr. Fiona Walton and Dr. Alexander McAuley (UPEI) will present "Reflections on Research in the Nunavut Master of Education" in conjunction with the DVD Launch of Lighting the Qulliq: The First Master of Education Program in Nunavut, directed by Mark Sandiford, and the opening of an exhibition of photographs of the graduates taken by Carlos Reyes-Manzo.
