Sue Foster joined the Faculty of Business in June, 2017 as the University of Prince Edward Island’s first Public Servant-in-Residence. The Government of Canada’s Public Servant-in-Residence Program places public servants in Canadian universities to conduct research and/or teach in areas linked to departmental objectives and broader public service priorities.

Sue comes to UPEI from Veterans Affairs Canada where she served as the Assistant Deputy Minister of Strategic Oversight and Communications. A native of New Brunswick, she brings with her extensive experience earned during a more than 30-year career with Employment and Social Development and Veterans Affairs, spanning multiple programs (Canada Pension Plan, Old Age Security, Employment Insurance, Canada Student Loans, Veterans Programs) from client service to legislative and regulatory strategic policy development. Sue holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Law from Carleton University.
