
The Atlantic Veterinary College held its 18th annual Graduate Studies and Research Days over two days in mid-May. A total of 43 presentations were delivered by AVC graduate students on their research findings during presentations. Topics included fish health and marine research, animal health research, and biomedical science and human health research.
A major highlight of the event was the delivery of the R.G. Thomson Lecture, an annual lecture honouring AVC’s founding Dean, Dr. Reg Thomson. Dr. Val Beasley (above centre), Professor of Veterinary, Wildlife and Ecological Toxicology at the University of Illinois’s College of Veterinary Medicine, delivered this year's entitled "De-evolution and Revolution: From Practice to Primordial Ooze and Back."
The event concluded with an awards reception during which gold, silver and bronze awards were presented in three categories. For a list of awards and recipients, please click here.
