Striker Chelsie McInnis with the CIS No. 5-ranked UPEI Panthers women’s soccer team is the Atlantic University Sport Subway Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 2nd, 2011. McInnis, a fifth year Business Administration student from Summerside, P.E.I., scored a pair of goals two UPEI home wins this past weekend over UNB and Cape Breton.
In Saturday’s 1-0 win over the Varsity Reds, Chelsie set-up the lone goal of the game by Emilie Pelletier in the 49th minute. In Sunday’s 3-0 shutout win over the defending AUS champion Capers, she netted two goals as the Panthers improved to a perfect 7-0-0 on the season. McInnis currently leads the Panthers in scoring with four goals in seven games this season.
