Mike Redmond began coaching the UPEI Women's Soccer program in 2004. Since taking over the head coach position the Panthers have made 5 straight play-off appearances, played in two AUS Finals and won the schools first women’s soccer AUS Championship in his first year. That year Mike was recognized as the AUS & CIS Coach of the Year.
Redmond was the Head Coach of the Piazza Joe’s Italia Women’s Senior who were the first PEI team to capture a medal at a Canadian National Championship (silver) in 2005. Prior to becoming head coach of the women’s team, Mike served as Assistant Coach for the UPEI Men’s Team from 2000-2002, Head Coach of Colonel Gray men’s team from 1993-2000 where he won three consecutive Island championships.
Mike is a B licence National level coach and his teams records stands for it self with GP – 64- Wins – 42, Losses – 12 and Ties 10. He and his wife Bryn live in Stratford with their two boys who are both already involved in soccer.
