UPEI (5-0-0) downed the X-Women (3-1-1) 1-0 in the battle for 1st place between the leagues only unbeaten teams as Andrea Yr Gustavsdottir placed the ball just inches inside the far post in the 55th minute after taking a great through ball from Andrea Archibald.

The UPEI Women's Soccer team moved up in the rankings again this week from 8th to 7th after their 3-0 start in the AUS. The Panthers host UdeM on Saturday at 4:00 pm and Sunday at 1:00 pm StFX is here to play.
The 8th ranked UPEI Women’s Panthers soccer team rolled to a convincing 4-0 win over the Mt Allison Mounties Sunday afternoon in Sackville. Rookies Alex Shinnan and Emilie Pelletier, with two ,had the unbeaten Panthers(3-0-0) in control by halftime.

On Sunday the number ten ranked Panthers completed the weekend sweep by defeating the Huskies 2-0. The Panthers dominated possession and created several quality scoring chances but the score remained 0-0 at the half. In the second half the Panthers opened the scoring on a well designed short corner that caught the Huskies napping and Chelsie McInnis converted at the near post for her second of the season.
The number ten ranked team in the Country the UPEI Women's Soccer Panthers started the season with two huge wins on the road versus Dalhousie and St. Mary's. On Saturday the Panthers recorded a 2-1 victory over the Dal Tigers with goals from rookie Maria Scichilone and 5th year striker Chelsie McInnis who scored a wonderful goal in the 80th minute to break a 1-1 tie.
As was the case in 2010, the UPEI Womens soccer team opens the regular season on the road against two of leagues top teams. The 10th ranked Panthers play the always strong Dalhousie Tigers on Saturday in Halifax before traveling down the street to play St. Mary’s on Sunday.
