Women's Hockey

Saturday night at MacLauchlan Arena the Mount Allison Mounties (12-6-4)  handed UPEI their 10th lost of the season with a score of 4-1 and the Panthers ( 12-10) are 4 points behind third place Mt. A.

The UPEI women's hockey team won in a shootout Sunday evening at MacLauchlan Arena 3-2.  The game was to be played in Souris but due to the snow storm and the power outages across PEI the game was moved back to UPEI campus.

The UPEI Women's Hockey team were in Summerside Saturday morning doing a clinic with players from the community. They did take out to have their picture taken with the Stanley Cup.

Saturday night at MacLauchlan Arena the UPEI women's hockey team defeated UdeM 3-1 after losing to them on Tuesday night.

Tuesday night in a makeup game against the Moncton Aigles Blues (16-2-1) the UPEI women’s hockey Panthers (10-9) were in total control of the game until the third period and lost 2-1.

Wednesday night the St. FX X-women slide past the UPEI Panthers 6-2.

The X-Women took control of the game in the first period scoring five straight goals.  Former Panther Janelle Parent scored her goal of the game early in the second period to take a 6-0 lead.

The UPEI Panthers and the St. Thomas Lady Tommies headed to Alberton, PEI for an important AUS women’s hockey battle. The Panthers did not disappoint the fans of the west and defeated the Tommies 2-1.

UPEI Womens' Hockey scheduled to play at UdeM Friday night has been changed to Saturday at 2pm.

The UPEI Panthers came from behind to defeat the Saint Mary Huskies 4-3, Saturday afternoon in Halifax.

The two teams traded goals in the first period, in the second UPEI scored to jump ahead 2-1 before SMU scored two goals just over 60 seconds apart.  In the third the Panthers turned the tables and 4 minutes into the period lead 4-3. The Panthers outshoot the Huskies 34-26.

Sunday afternoon in Fredericton, the Saint Thomas Tommies (6-7-1)  defeated the UPEI Panthers (8-7)  4-2.

UPEI Panthers Janelle MacKenzie scored in the first 5 minutes but STU replied back with 3 goals in less than 7 minutes to lead 3-1.  UPEI 's Jessie-Anne Howard scored the only goal in the second to trail 3-2. STU added one more in the 3rd to win 4-2. 

The Panthers outshot the Tommies 39-26
