LANGLEY, B.C. (CIS) – The Victoria Vikes tied a tournament record for most goals in a game as they outscored the UPEI Panthers 6-2 in the first consolation match of the CIS men’s soccer championship at Trinity Western University, Friday afternoon.

(CIS) – All-Canadian striker Gabriel Moreau scored twice including the game-winner just before halftime as the Quebec champion Laval Rouge et Or downed the AUS finalist UPEI Panthers 3-1 in the first quarter-final match of the CIS men’s soccer championship at Trinity Western University, Thursday afternoon.

Wednesday evening in Langly, BC the CIS awards for the 2009 soccer were given out and UPEI Panther Nathan Snowie was named to the CIS All Canadian 2nd Team.

A goal by Kieshian Bean in the first minute of overtime was the deciding factor in a 2-1 win for the Cape Breton Capers over the UPEI Panthers in the championship game for the 2009 Subway AUS title played Monday morning at Wickwire field in Halifax.

It was just the right time for the UPEI Panthers to come out of their goal scoring slump with a 4-3 victory over #2 seed Dalhousie Tigers in the AUS Semi finals played at Wickwire field Sunday afternoon in Halifax.  The win guarantees the Panthers with a position in the final eight in the CIS Nationals to be held Nov 12-15 at Trinity Western University in Langley, BC.

Please note that due to the heavy snow that fell in Halifax this morning, today's AUS men's soccer championship quarter-final games at Dalhousie have been postponed.

Quarter-finals will now be played Saturday at 12pm (UNB vs. Moncton) and 3pm (UPEI vs. StFX).

Semifinals will be played Sunday at 12pm (CBU vs. Lowest Remaining Seed) and 3pm (Dalhousie vs. Highest Remaining Seed).

The championship game will be played Monday. Time TBA.
