The UPEI Panthers men’s hockey team was downed by the St. FX X-Men 3-2 in Antigonish Saturday night.
The Atlantic University Sport teams faced off in front of a crowd of 952 in Antigonish, with both teams tied going into the third period.
UPEI’s Jordan Knox opened the game with a goal at 4:54 in the first period. Jared Gomes got the Panthers’ second goal at 13:22 in the second period.
X-Men goals were scored by Kevin Undershute at 12:04 in the first period, and Bryce Swan at 14:48 in the second.
Jason Bast got the winning goal for the X-Men at 14:35 in the third period.
The loss was the second for the Panthers in the road trip after Saint Maries dropped the team 4-1 Friday night in Halifax.
