Friday night at MacLauchlan Arena, the UPEI Panthers starter slow trailing 2-0 against the Dalhousie Tigers. In the third period the Panthers took control of the game scoring four straight goals to win 4-2 and improve to 14-8.
The Dalhousie Tigers took an early two goal lead in the first period and the Panthers looked deflated. The second period had both teams with good chances but unable to score.
The Panthers came alive in the third period with the first goal from Chad Locke, less than 2 minutes gone in the period. Then Chris Desousa tied the game 2-2 to bring the building alive. Jared Gomes's scored the go ahead goal with 5:57 left in the game. Matt Carter finished the Tigers with a late goal to win 4-2.
UPEI goalie Mavric Parks was named the Subway player of the game.
The Panthers host Acadia Saturday night at 7 pm with the Alumni Green & White game taking place at 4 pm.
