Forbes MacPherson of Stratford, P.E.I., is the new interim head coach for the UPEI Panther men’s hockey team, announced Ron Annear, director of Athletics at UPEI, today.
MacPherson has been involved in hockey at the university and professional levels for many years. He played for UNB from 1991 to 1993, and UPEI from 1994 to 1996. He has also played for several teams in the CoHL, IHL, ECHL, WPHL and AHL. He has been named a CHL All Star and a CoHL Rookie of the Year.
From 2000 to 2007 he was assistant coach and player with the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs. And from 2007 to 2008 he was assistant coach and assistant director of hockey operations for the Texas Brahmas in the CHL.
MacPherson has his Bachelor of Physical Education and Recreation from UNB and a diploma in Public Administration from UPEI.
