The UPEI men’s basketball team did not let the delay of their start time distract them from their goal of holding first place of the AUS. They defeated the Memorial Seahawks 100-89 and are four points ahead of second place Acadia.
The Panthers lead the AUS with an average of 90 points per game, did not disappoint the crowd as they reached 100 with two minutes left to play. After the first 10 minutes the Panthers led 22-19 and increased the lead to 50-40 at half. UPEI continued to march forward leading 79-66 after thirty and finished off the Seahawks 100-89.
Game high scorer was MUN’s Robbie Habib with 33, hitting 8 three pointers. For the Panthers Terrence Brown scored 28 along with Donnie Moss’s 20.
The Panthers host the Dalhousie Tigers Saturday night at 8 pm.
